Jean-Pierre was born in Geestacht, Germany. In 1998 he made his way to the U.S. with his family (mother) Patricia, (father) Andreas, (brother) Jean-Philipp. He was introduced to the game of golf by a neighbor who let him use a set of clubs. Once on the golf course he was hooked. One shot down the fairway and he decided this is what he wanted to do for a living and life. Jean-Pierre, obsessed with the game, spent every spare moment practicing and playing after school and weekends. His parent encouraged Jean-Pierre even entering him into junior events. His fierce competitive attitude, European discipline and encouragement all came to a hault his senior year of high school when his father was diagnosed with cancer. It was five months before Jean-Pierre picked up a golf club. He promptly shot a 72. That was enough to give birth to the belief that he could do well as a professional if he applied himself. In 2006 at the age of twenty he turned pro.
